In order to study the application effect of direct evaporative cooling unit in an underground railway station in dry area, produces a direct evaporative cooling test prototype. Based on the combination method of theoretical calculation and test, studies the air flow rate, direct evaporative cooling efficiency, air temperature drop and resistance of the test prototype by experiment. Compares the cooling effect and resistance of the test prototype under four different schemes, and obtains that the direct evaporative cooling efficiency of the test prototype can up to 99% in the case of three-dimensional water spray on 300 mm thick padding, the water spray density of 6 000 kg/(m2·h) and the face velocity of 2.2 m/s.
